Max wanted to go out and play in the rain. They were outside for approximately 1.5 minutes, and then Max was crying to go back in because he was too cold. We are getting soft here in Texas.
This picture is for my mother and is the finished product of our little project. I learned some basic sewing skills from my mom, such as how to gather fabric. That was sweet, but I realized that sewing isn't really my thing. If you add up the cost of the fabric, the time, my major frustration, and the basic non-enjoyment I felt I just don't think it's that worth it for me. Next time I will happily go to Anthropologie and pay 30-40 dollars to buy an apron (this was a copy of one that I had bought there). And then with all the extra time I will read a good book. And maybe when I go to Anthropologie I'll run into Jessica Simpson and Tony Romo again. And maybe next time I won't be wearing purple slippers, faded black sweats, and a ski vest over a neon purple shirt. And maybe, just maybe, I'll have combed my hair within the last 12 hours and have some make-up on. Who goes into Northpark looking like that? Honestly, I'm surprised they let me in the doors. My mom and I saw them right at the time where there was tons of press about how fat Jessica had gotten. Umm...if THAT is fat then I will be mistaken for a beached whale when I visit California in March. She looked FABULOUS and SUPER skinny! It was way exciting seeing someone famous, I don't think I ever have before. No, not true...when I played in the Closing Ceremony orchestra I was right next to tons of famous people: Christina Aguilara, Bon Jovi, N'Sync, Willie Nielson, Harry Connick Jr., Moby, Earth Wind and Fire (or some similar group with really tall shoes), and Apollo Antoine Ohno (oohh, he was cute back then, wasn't he?). I can remember the complete high I was on after that as well!

You're so funny! Plus, it's nice of your mom spend time with you and Tyler while she's visiting the cute kiddos! But I wouldn't worry, the next thing you know Miss Simpson will be photographed wearing purple slippers with matching neon purple shirt and ski vest. It will be all the newest fashion rage. Then all of us "sweat pant moms" will be stylish, and all thanks to you, Cass :)

Fun to have so many visitors! I love the apron. It is so cute! I saw Jessica Simpson in L.A. at wicked it is fun to see famous people. She is the only one I have ever seen. you are so funny. I love your descriptiveness about what you wore!

I needed a good laugh this morning...and I knew your blog would deliver! Your apron is so cute! There is no way I could ever do something like that. I am impressed but not surprised. Can't wait to see you guys in a couple of weeks. The boys are already counting down to when they will get to have a sleep over with "Mac" and "Baby Sweet!"
I don't know about you, Cass, but I live my life in slippers and sweats...THERE IS NO SHAME IN THAT!!! :0) You did such a good job on your apron! How fun it is to spend time on projects like that every once in a while (again, every once and a while ;0). I find that, just like you, sometimes it is worth the extra cash to avoid the headache; nevertheless, I wish I had the sewing talent that you did. It looks awesome!
