This is the longest we've stayed in Texas for the summer. We've certainly appreciated the rainy moments...and there have been plenty.

However, when the rain stops and the soul-sucking heat comes we can find relief in our inflatable pool.

Watch out though, because when it's raining like this outside and there is a leak in the roof...

...this may happen to your ceiling. Luckily we are renters so we left our unsanitary and dangerous house (trust me, you don't want to hear about the unsanitary part) and headed to a hotel. Meanwhile the owners "discovered" it wasn't a leak in the roof and instead a small plastic tube meant for the icemaker that had sprung a leak. Which happens to be very convenient since their homeowners insurance pays for damages due to that, but not due to leaks in the roof. I guess the roofer they paid to fix the roof the day the ceiling fell in was just..."chillin" as Max likes to say.

After our ceiling trauma the night before it was very therapeutic to spend the morning at Grapevine Lake (or is it Lake Grapevine) boating and swimming with friends.

Lakes are just a happy place, aren't they?

Of course, we enjoyed the hotel pool during our last minute, emergency vacation.

Now we're back to our routine, and with a forecast full of suns we are escaping the heat by playing in our favorite fountains.

It may have created a bit of havoc, but we would not be able to get through this summer without water. (Sort of a dumb statement, since no one can live without water, but you get what I mean, right?)
